Q&A

What do you do at your company?

I support the workforce innovations team in three main areas: employer engagement, community outreach, and helping career candidates. I meet and tour employers’ facilities to learn what areas they need help in and how we can support them.

I connect and maintain relationships with local service providers in the community to understand the community’s employment challenges.

I host manufacturing career awareness sessions and assist with event coordination for job seekers interested in manufacturing.

How do you find meaning in it?

I love being able to connect with young adults and expose them to the field of manufacturing. There are things that I wish I knew when I was younger, and now I can be the one to inform the next generation.

What led you to a career in manufacturing?

I wanted a change from my prior position. When CCAT expressed interest in me, I jumped at the chance and was ready to start learning about manufacturing.

Do you have any advice for people thinking about a manufacturing career?

I am not at a manufacturer, but I have had the chance to meet with many since I have been working in this field. I would advise others to be open-minded about manufacturing. Expose yourself to many different industries to eliminate stereotypes and to make the best career decision for you.

Do you have any strong interests or passions outside of work?

I go to the gym daily, I enjoy watching sports, and I like doing spontaneous activities to explore Connecticut.
