What brought you to Connecticut?

I’m from St. Catherine, Jamaica. My family and I migrated to America as it presented an opportunity for us to excel and achieve our goals.

What do you do?

I’m a manufacturing engineer who wears multiple hats - I’m involved in the quoting process, process development, production control, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

How do you find meaning in it?

Being able to create new processes. Having the freedom to create designs and being able to see said designs implemented.

Who or what lead you to a career in manufacturing?

Originally, I wanted to be a pilot. However, I wanted to be on the mechanical side of things - to actually be closer to the components of aircrafts.

What are the challenges you have overcome to succeed?

Building the skill to communicate effectively across all levels, from management to the shop floor technicians.

Do you have any advice for people thinking about a career in manufacturing?

Understand and appreciate the foundation of engineering - the calculus, the physics, the dynamics and the challenges it brings, because they all apply in the field.

What do you like to do in your free time outside of work?

I have interest in soccer and basketball and I design and create products using my personal 3D printer.
