Q&A
What led you to pursue a career in manufacturing?
On the day of my orientation, I told myself learning this job will be difficult. I asked myself the question, “Will I get there?” and over time I found pleasure in making the materials. I start with one step and take it to another and end up seeing the product I participated in making. Honestly, when I was looking for work I didn’t know anything about manufacturing. But after I was shown everything, it became different and clear.
What has your journey been like?
My career goes back to December to the present day and I do not regret having made this choice. My favorite thing is to see the products in use out in the world. To personally know I participated in the creation of these things, these products we create and wire, gives me a lot of pride and pleasure.
What have you learned about yourself?
I learned a lot. Besides that I am a very strong person, I have gained experience in all the roles and jobs here. I have to maneuver some machines, I learned the difference in thickness of the wire, and know now the quality is even more important than the quantity. I learned that nothing is difficult when you haven’t tried it.
Do you have any advice for people interested in a career in manufacturing?
My advice would be to try before judging a job because it’s nice to see what you can do or contribute.
What do you like to do in your free time?
During my free time I connect with my children.
